Alert Date to Accept Offers of Admission Extended to May 15

Penn State will extend its offer acceptance deadline from May 1 to May 15, 2024, for incoming first-year students enrolling in the summer or fall 2024 terms.

Major Requirements:

Fall admission only. Applicants who have less than one year (2 or less academic semesters) of attempted college coursework may apply for consideration. Consideration additionally requires requirements an interview/audition, and a 2.5 cumulative GPA.

Students with more than 2 semesters (3 or more) of attempted college coursework by the time of their projected enrollment are encouraged to contact the School of Theater directly. Arts and Architecture Application Requirements

General Requirements

College of Arts and Architecture:
Majors in the College of Arts and Architecture are started and completed at Penn State University Park, and require a minimum 2.5 GPA (unless otherwise noted. Majors started at campuses other than University Park require a minimum 2.0 GPA.(Unless otherwise noted.)

Applicants who have or will have completed two or fewer semesters of college coursework (with the exception of Art History, Digital Media Design, Music BA, Music BM, Music Education, Musical Arts and Theatre BA), and have successfully submitted the additional materials (audition, portfolio) required by their major of interest will be eligible for consideration.

Credit Limits for College of Arts and Architecture Programs

Applicants with greater than two semesters of regionally accredited college work (with the exception of Art History, Digital Media Design, Music BA, Music BM, Music Education, Musical Arts and Theatre BA), no transfer admission to College of Arts and Architecture and no subsequent movement to Arts and Architecture from another college or major.

Tuition Advisory

Please be advised that a student’s tuition will increase when the Penn State transcript reflects 59.1 cumulative credits. Credits earned from tests, like AP or IB exams, are considered transfer credits and are included in the cumulative credit total. If the credits you are transferring or have transferred to Penn State place you above 59.1 cumulative credits after the start of the semester, your tuition will increase immediately.
