As an international student, Leonardo Girlando has had unique opportunities all over the world. After graduating from high school in Panama, he lived in Shanghai for seven months, where he stayed with a host family and took an intensive Chinese writing and speaking course.
In fact, Leonardo speaks four languages, and at Penn State he is able to combine his love for language and his interest in business through a double major of Chinese and Finance. It was ultimately these types of opportunities that swayed Leonardo to become a Nittany Lion.
Everyone is from different places; China, Latin America, the United States, and you come to Penn State and become part of the Penn State culture.
“Leonardo has immersed himself in that culture as a student and is thinking ahead to the future. He hopes to participate in the Integrated Master of Accounting Program at the University in a few years. This program, like many others offered at Penn State, allows students to earn a master’s degree in an accelerated time frame.
