Penn State Altoona’s 171.5-acre campus is nestled in the mountains of Central Pennsylvania, two hours east of Pittsburgh, two hours north of Harrisburg, and an hour west of State College, home to Penn State’s University Park campus.
The campus offers students the appeal of a small, private college with the name recognition of a major research university. From the moment students arrive on campus, they notice something special about Penn State Altoona. It might be the groves of mature shade trees that greet them as they walk across campus or the beautiful reflecting pond with the student center at one end and a picturesque all-faiths chapel at the other. These special touches have drawn a diverse student body, including international students who have access to special services to meet their needs.
