Alert Date to Accept Offers of Admission Extended to May 15

Penn State will extend its offer acceptance deadline from May 1 to May 15, 2024, for incoming first-year students enrolling in the summer or fall 2024 terms.

Can undocumented students or DACA recipients receive financial aid or merit-based scholarships?

Federal Aid

Undocumented students and DACA recipients are not eligible for federal student aid.

Pennsylvania Commonwealth Aid

Pennsylvania does not currently have policies regarding access to state financial aid for undocumented students.

Tuition and Penn State Specific Aid

Undocumented students, with or without DACA, can be eligible for in-state tuition if they meet Penn State’s residency requirements. These requirements include attending an accredited Pennsylvania high school for at least four years and graduating from an accredited Pennsylvania high school or receiving a Pennsylvania General Educational Development (GED) certificate.

Penn State does not currently have a policy for providing financial aid to undocumented students. For short-term assistance and emergency financial aid or grants, students can contact the Student Care and Advocacy Office.
