Penn State York is conveniently situated in the midst of many major attractions.

Penn State York’s facilities have grown to 51 acres that include six tennis courts, athletic fields, several acres of woodland, and five major building facilities including the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center, the Lee R. Glatfelter Library, and the John T. and Paige S. Smith Atrium. The new Pullo Family Performing Arts Center provides seating for 1,016 people and offers full theatre capabilities.

Penn State York is conveniently situated in the midst of many major attractions. A less than an hour drive can take students to the historical National Military Park in Gettysburg, the Amish country in Lancaster with all its crafts and outlets, our state capitol of Harrisburg, or the famous fun-filled Hershey Park. Students can also take advantage of entertainment, cultural, and sporting events offered in nearby Baltimore, Washington, and Philadelphia.

Housing Information:

Students at Penn State York utilize privately-owned off-campus housing located close to campus. There are currently more than 1,600 students enrolled at Penn State York.

Driving Directions

Penn State York is located in Spring Garden Township adjacent to city-owned athletic and recreational facilities. The best routes to the campus are listed below.

From the Pennsylvania Turnpike: Exit the Harrisburg/York interchange (Exit 18/242) and follow I-83 south. Exit 1-83 at Exit 18 and follow directions below.

From the east or west via Route 30: Take Route 30 to I-83 and follow 1-83 south to Exit 18. See directions from Exit 18 below.

From Exit 18 of I-83: Proceed west on Route 124 for approximately 1 mile. Turn left on Albemarle Street. Follow Albemarle Street for five blocks to campus entrances on right. Enter at Irving Road for Admissions parking. Enter at Edgecomb Avenue for other visitor parking.

From city of York: Travel south on Queen Street to Rathton Road. Turn left on Rathton Road and proceed for approximately one mile to Albemarle Street. Turn left on Albemarle and drive two blocks to the campus entrances on the left. Enter at Irving Road for Admissions parking. Enter at Edgecomb Avenue for other visitor parking.
