Program Transfer Requirements:

Campus Options:
(Start at any Campus and Finish: University Park) Applicants who have less than 19 credits of completed college course work and meet the eligibility requirements listed below may request to start at a Penn State Campus in summer or fall. No admission to spring semester.

Major Requirements:
A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2 is required as well as 3 credits of English composition and 3 credits of either college algebra II (with analytic geometry) or college level calculus.

General Requirements

Smeal College of Business

University Park:

No transfer admission to University Park. Applicants who meet eligibility requirements may apply to start at a Penn State Campus and transition to University Park on completion of entrance to major requirements.

Penn State Commonwealth Campuses:

Applicants who have completed 19 to 29 credits of regionally accredited college work, have a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have successfully completed English Composition and at least 3 credits of college algebra (equivalent to Math 022) or calculus are admissible to the Business premajor. Applicants may not use summer enrollment after the second semester to complete required courses.

Credit Limits for Smeal College Programs

Applicants with greater than 29 credits of regionally accredited college work; no transfer admission to Smeal College of Business and no subsequent movement to Smeal from another college or major.

Tuition Advisory

Please be advised that a student’s tuition will increase when the Penn State transcript reflects 59.1 cumulative credits. Credits earned from tests, like AP or IB exams, are considered transfer credits and are included in the cumulative credit total. If the credits you are transferring or have transferred to Penn State place you above 59.1 cumulative credits after the start of the semester, your tuition will increase immediately.
