Major Requirements:
No transfer admission at University Park. Applicants who will have up to 2 semesters of work attempted may apply for admission to the College of Engineering pre-major status (ENGR) at a campus other than University Park. Direct transfer equivalency to PSU course Math 140 (4 credits of college calculus with analytic geometry) and a minimum of a 2.60 cumulative GPA is required for consideration. Applicants with more than 2 semesters of attempted college coursework need a minimum of 2.60 cumulative GPA, direct transfer equivalency to PSU courses Math 140 and Math 141 (8 credits of calculus with analytic geometry) with a "C" or higher grade, and either 3 credits of Biology, 3 credits of Chemistry, or 4 credits of calculus-based Physics with a "C" or higher grade to be considered for review.
Penn State Erie, The Behrend College
Majors in the Behrend College may be started at any Penn State campus and are completed at Penn State Erie, and require a minimum 2.0 GPA (unless otherwise noted). Applicants with less than two years of course work will enter the college in a pre-major status and gain entrance to their major on completion of the entrance to major requirements for their intended major, which is typically at the end of the sophomore year.
Please be advised that a student’s tuition will increase when the Penn State transcript reflects 59.1 cumulative credits. Credits earned from tests, like AP or IB exams, are considered transfer credits and are included in the cumulative credit total. If the credits you are transferring or have transferred to Penn State place you above 59.1 cumulative credits after the start of the semester, your tuition will increase immediately.
